# Agent Context Monitor

claude code and codex usage limits, chat context, and history in your system tray

desktop
Agent Context Monitor showing usage limits, remaining chat context, and daily usage history for Claude Code and Codex

A small desktop companion for Claude Code and Codex. It lives in your system tray so you can check your account limits and chat context without switching between sessions to ask each one how much room is left.

what it shows

  • usage: remaining session and weekly limits reported by each provider, with reset times.
  • context: recent chats with their project, model, activity, and remaining context. Filter by provider or choose your own context target. Claude context windows are estimated and labeled that way.
  • history: daily and weekly charts showing how much of your weekly limit you’ve used.

Keep the compact tabbed view or widen the window to see all three together. The tray indicator changes color as usage rises, and desktop alerts tell you when a limit or an active chat is getting close to full.

install

Download the installer for macOS, Windows, or Linux from the latest release. You need Claude Code, Codex, or both installed and signed in.

how it handles your data

The app reads local chat metadata, including titles, models, and token counts. It doesn’t store your messages. Usage checks use your existing Claude Code login and the installed Codex client. History stays on your computer.

why i built it

I wanted one place to see how much usage I had left and which chats were getting full. Session HUD gives me that context signal inside Claude Code. ACM puts Claude and Codex together in the tray.

It’s free and open source under the MIT license.
