# trav focus takes over the daily work dashboard

Mission Control was handling two different jobs: my daily work and the machines running it. I’m separating those into Trav Focus and Trav Fleet. Focus is now privately deployed. Fleet is next, and Mission Control stays available until that replacement is accepted.

The important boundary in Focus is that the todo list is still a Markdown file. The dashboard can create, edit, and complete tasks, but it doesn’t move them into a second database that my agents and notes have to synchronize with. Browser writes check the source revision and run serially, with backups outside the vault and atomic file replacement.

I don’t need an MCP server for local agents to update that file. They already have filesystem access. They do need to reread it before writing and avoid concurrent edits. The dashboard’s write protection doesn’t magically apply to an agent editing the file directly. A remote agent without filesystem access would be a separate reason to add a bounded API or MCP later.

The last interface change before closeout was mobile navigation. I replaced the fixed bottom navigation with a drawer using the same sidebar as desktop. Opening it had to move focus inside, keep the page behind it inactive, and return focus when it closed. Changing viewport size also needed to restore scrolling rather than leave the page stuck.

Deployment needed its own check. Merging the PR didn’t automatically update the Coolify application. I queued the deployment and confirmed the running image matched the merge commit, then checked the live drawer at a narrow viewport. The local gate passed 123 tests alongside the other project checks.

Focus is for my private workflow, not a publicly launched service. The repo and deployment remain private. The next step is Trav Fleet, while keeping Mission Control around until the remaining job has a working replacement.
