DevStash started as the project for my Coding with AI course. I’ve kept working on it, and the latest additions make it useful for sharing things instead of just keeping them to yourself.
Collections can now be public or unlisted. Existing collections stay private until you change their visibility. I also added a Markdown export in settings that puts your collections and items into one readable file. File attachments are listed by name and size; the Markdown export doesn’t include the files.
Then I added sharing for individual items. You shouldn’t have to create a collection just to send someone a command or a code snippet. The new dialog lets you paste something, choose its visibility, and get a short link. Shared snippets have syntax highlighting and a raw view for copying the actual text. File attachments aren’t shareable yet.
The part I spent extra time checking was caching. If I edit something I’ve shared, the public page needs to change. If I delete it or make it private, the old link needs to stop exposing it. Against a local production build, I checked that edits cleared the cached page and deletion returned a 404.
These changes are merged and deployed. It’s still the course project, but I’m continuing to build it into something people can use outside the course.
